Devil's claw (Harpagophytum procumbens) is a plant native to the Kalahari desert in southern Africa. The plant grows in the savannahs of Namibia, South Africa, and Botswana. It is used by humans to treat joint pain, osteoarthritis and back pain.

For horses, Devil's claw is known as the herbal alternative to Bute. If you're using it primarily as a pain killer, then be sure to combine it with turmeric or Respire (which contains turmeric and other powerful helpers), as it's painkiller action works best in combination. It has been shown to be anti-inflammatory and reduce pain and swelling in equine joints.

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) has a long history of being used both topically and internally to relieve joint pain in humans , dogs and equines.

This combination may help discomfort associated with normal daily exercise and activity-- helping to support free and easy movement. Each one ounce serving will provide 1,500 mg of Devil's Claw (standardized at 2.50% harpagosides) and 10 grams (10, 000 mg) of MSM.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

For equine use only to support healthy joint structure and function. Use HorseTech's MSM & Devil's Claw at the rate of one ounce (28.4 grams) per day. The enclosed 60cc scoop will hold approximately one ounce (28.4 grams) when filled to "level".

Provide to mature horses weighing 1,100 lbs (500 kg) at the rate of one level scoop per day. Dosage may be adjusted proportionately, based on weight, for larger or smaller breeds. Do not provide to pregnant mares.
